Tormey's Law scholarship Awards

Each year, Tormey's Solicitors in Athlone make a presentation to the student with the highest points achieved in the Leaving Certicficate and who is for that year a first year law student. Winners are drawn from the Athlone, Moate, Ferbane, Ballymahon, Roscommon, Ballinasloe and Tullamore areas.

Congratulations to Sarah Kenny on being awarded the Tormeys / Barra Flynn Memorial Scholarship for 2009. Sarah is now in her first year of a law degree in UCG. Summerhill College has featured consistently in the award over the last four years—winning the overall school award twice.
In 2008 second place winner was Audrey Murphy who is studying law at UL. In third place was Amy Drummond who is also studying Law at UL both past pupils of the school.For the third year in a row, St Joseph's College Summerhill also claimed the Silver Perpetual Trophy for the highest cumulative points of law students. Congratulations to Sarah, Audrey and Amy on this great achievemnt from all at Summerhill!!!
